Saint Nicholas did not only bring us sweets this week, he also surprised us with the launch of the 2nd pillar databank for the (law-abiding) citizen!

In addition to the date on which you may take statutory retirement, the secured website now also shows all reserves accrued via a company pension. You will receive a summary of any supplementary pension via the sector as well as via your former and current employers. At a glance, you can see the total accrued pension reserve (i.e. the projected amount at the age of 65 without any additional premium payments) and the death benefit in favour of your beneficiaries.

You can click to access more detailed information and consult your current employer’s pension regulations.

Nonetheless, we would like to point out a few aspects that you need to be aware of.

All amounts are as of 1 January while some pension schemes are not recalculated on that date. Your employer might have chosen a different date for the annual update. In this case, your personal benefit statement via the insurer will show different amounts.

Some insurers did not meet the 1 October deadline for the submission of all documents and figures. Even after 6 December, it appears as though all the information relating to ‘dormant contracts’ at previous employers has not yet been included.

Lastly, we would like to give you the link to the info video of the secured website, which gives you an enlightening look at the 2nd pillar in just five minutes:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbj7915hrpI
